In September 2021 we launched our house system at Lady Nafisa School.
We have four houses named after notable people:
MALCOLM
FRANKLIN
BANKSY
MONTAGU
We have chosen people from the past as well as contemporaries, men and women, and from different walks of life.
Each house has its own colour.
Malcolm - yellow
Franklin - green
Banksy - red
Montagu - blue
Members of each house wear the corresponding coloured badge on their blazer lapel.
Students are sorted into their houses in the annual sorting ceremony which takes place in the first week of September. Students pick their house from our sorting hat (which is a traditional Ottoman hat).Students remain in their house for the duration of their time at LNS and throughout the academic year students can earn house points for contributions in lessons, homework, extra curriculars and adab. Unfortunately, houses can also lose points by getting detentions!
House points are totaled weekly and the winning house has their flag displayed in the main hall for that week.
At the end of term the winning house celebrate with a HOUSE PARTY!
House leaders are:
Malcolm - Ustadha Tahira
Franklin - Ustadha Sanam
Banksy - Ustadha Tanzina
Montagu - Ustadha Kinza
