Student Leadership

Meet the Student Leadership Team

Head Girl

Assalamu Alaikum

I am highly grateful and honoured to be chosen as Head Girl for this academic year. I view this as a chance to give something back to the school community that I have loved being a part of since Year 7.

This role is so important to me because it grants me a means to rejuvenate our school after the lengthy lockdown. It is my utmost priority to ensure every student here enjoys learning and being at Lady Nafisa as much as I do. But, most importantly, that every student wakes up with a smile- ready to surpass their potential.

This year I will work with the prefects and school council team to accomplish a range of goals. Some of my ideas include plans to develop student support through student-to-student mentoring, increase extra-curricular participation, and share what we do well here at LNS through better marketing of the achievements. Of course, we will still work together to organise our popular school events; however, this year I want to focus on increasing our awareness of our impact on the environment so we can collectively fulfil our role as "Khalifahs" on the earth.

Another crucial thing I would like to focus on is encouraging positivity, especially during testing times. I hope that once we cross the threshold of the main entrance, we can all sense the strong, loving bond of sisterhood within the school. I hope every student will have engrained within themselves the prophetic values like honesty, perseverance and sincerity. This will be reinforced by our growth mindsets because we will all strive for progress not perfection in the sight of Allah Almighty. Our school will be a paradigm of the Muslim Ummah Insha'Allah!

It is a fact that this year will be a struggle due to the Covid-19 situation. However, I whole-heartedly accept the challenges ahead and I promise to do my absolute best to lead the students effectively to meet our objectives and to be a good role model across the school.

Finally, I would like to thank all of the teachers for their unwavering support from the beginning. Without them, I would not be where I am now. They are the living examples of "Whoever Strives will Succeed".
